UTG TV: Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 With Ill Niño

“All metal bands, whether you’re in your 20s, whether you’re 18…30…40…you obviously want to turn the youth of America into a metalhead.”

Fourteen years ago Cristian Machado stepped up from bass to lead vocals for the NJ based Latin Metal rockers Ill Niño. On July 22 of this year the band dropped their seventh studio album, Till Death, La Familia, via Victory Records. The timing was perfect to coincide with their run on the Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 alongside Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, and many more.

UTG’s John Bazley spoke with Cristian about his time spent on the road, what he enjoys about playing festivals as a veteran rocker and why he really enjoyed discovering Miss May I this summer. You can also find out what Cristian is bumping in his bus when he’s not singing “Gimme the loot, bitch!” with his homie Biggie Smalls.
