UTG Premiere: Nemes – “Butterfly” (Lyric Video)

New England folk outfit Nemes have been longtime friends of UTG. They were one of the first unsigned bands we ever featured on our site, and in the six years since that time their talent and recognition has only continued to grow. Now, after many months of busking, touring, crowdfunding, and doing everything imaginable in between, the group from Worcester, MA are ready to share their debut full-length with the world.

I Carry Your Heart will be independently released by Nemes on October 28. The record, which will be available on CD, vinyl, and through digital retailers worldwide, was produced by Rick Kwan (My Morning Jacket, Zambri, OAR). We have been given the honor of premiering the album’s lead single, “Butterfly,” which you can stream in full at the end of this post. The song is available now as an instant download for anyone who pre-orders the new album.

You will notice when you watch the footage below that the visuals in “Butterfly” are a bit different than your typical lyric video. Created on a budget of just $7, the members of the band use the clip to educate fans on how to perform the song using sign language. It’s a fun twist on a familiar concept, and should go a long way towards helping the band win over fans who may otherwise have never been able to enjoy/experience their creativity.

We will bring you more on I Carry Your Heart as the album’s release date nears. For now, comment below and let us know your thoughts on Nemes’ latest.
