Yellowcard Premiere New Track, “One Bedroom,” Push Back ‘Lift A Sail’ Release Date

Earlier this morning, we received both good and bad news from the Yellowcard camp. First, it seems that the group’s forthcoming effort, Lift A Sail, will now make landfall on October 7 instead of sometime this September, as the recent Razor & Tie signees originally indicated. However, to appease fans in the meantime, the Florida four-piece has offered up a new track titled “One Bedroom.” Listen to it here via USA Today, or give it a spin by following the jump below.

A slow-building acoustic ballad complete with a memorable vocal line and subtle electronic elements, “One Bedroom” may be a bit difficult to swallow for longtime fans, but according to lead vocalist Ryan Key, this deviation was intentional.

“We don’t want to keep writing the same record over and over. We’ve always tried to make each record independent of the others, but on this one we really went for it,” said Key.

In the months ahead, Yellowcard will hit the road alongside Memphis May Fire and Emarosa for a month-long, nationwide run, which, according to Key, will feature many new tracks off Lift A Sail.

“Because we’ve been on tour so solidly, I hope our fans will welcome it, because it will be such a different experience, something new to see from us, as opposed to the same set list we’ve brought through the last three U.S. tours,” said Key. “I know as a fan of music, I’m amped for it.”
