A day after premiering his latest solo single with BBC Radio, former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has given fans the gift of a brand new music video.

“No Shows” reintroduces Gerard Way to the world with a throwback inspired sound and just enough pop influence to make it clear the Danger Days are far behind him. The video also feels inspired by the past, with VHS quality footage showcasing the band performing on a televised dance show. It’s like something out of the 1980s, and I mean that in all the best ways. Check it out:

“No Shows” will appear on Gerard Way’s first solo album, Hesitant Alien, which is scheduled to hit stores later this year. We have yet to review the track, so comment below and let us know what you think of Way’s first solo single.
