Dave Chappelle Returns To Hartford, CT With OddBall Comedy Festival (Video)

Just over a year ago we ran a story about comedian Dave Chappelle having a meltdown in Hartford, CT while appearing on the inaugural Oddball Comedy Festival. It was an embarrassing moment for the comedian, and in the weeks that followed the former Comedy Central star was thrown through the ringer from various members of the press. No one knew if Chappelle would ever return to the tour again, let alone the city where his meltdown occurred, but over this past weekend Chappelle made good with a surprise appearance that has since found its way online.

The 2014 installment of the Oddball Comedy Festival hit Comerica Theater in Hartford this past Saturday, August 23. At the very end of the night, comedian Louis CK closed his headline set by surprising the sold out crowd with the introduction of Dave Chappelle. The comedian was greeted with a lengthy standing ovation, which he followed with a heartfelt apology to anyone who caught his set the year prior. Chappelle also performed a few new bits, which (thankfully) killed. You can view footage of his entire appearance below:

Chappelle has continued to tour over the last year, but has slowed down a bit in 2014. It’s unclear whether or not he will release a new special anytime soon, but we sincerely hope we have another reason to report on him soon.

The Oddball Comedy Festival is still going strong. Click here for tickets and additional show information.
