New ‘Interstellar’ Trailer Is Everything You Want And More (But Not Too Much)

Christopher Nolan is one of those rare filmmakers who can bring any story to the big screen and fans will line up at their local cineplex to show support. It was not always this way, of course, but over the last decade Nolan has proven himself to be a one of a kind visionary who never seems short on fresh ideas.

For his latest feature, Nolan has given the public a trailer-heavy campaign that has somehow managed to keep the vast majority of his new film’s plot tightly under wraps. We know Interstellar will find Matthew McConaughey heading into space, likely for a lengthy amount of time, but the reasons why he specifically must go and the things he finds along the way have been shrouded in mystery since day one. The latest trailer does not provide a lot of answers, but it does offer several gorgeous seconds of new footage that successfully pull you in even further than previous marketing efforts. You can view the clip below:

I am in love with the look of this film, and I know I am saying that after only witnessing five minutes (or less) of footage, but it’s completely true. There is a grittiness to everything, including space, and I think that stylistic choice will help set Interstellar apart from the growing number of space adventures making their way to the box office.

In addition to McConaughey, Interstellar features Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Matt Damon, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, and Topher Grace.

Interstellar is set for release on November 7. The official synopsis reads:

Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
