Buke and Gase Share Single, Announce Tour

Buke and Gase are more than an experimental duo; they’re inventors. Brooklyn musicians Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez made their instruments–the “toebourine” and “buke,” for example–by hand. Not only that, but their music stretches boundaries farther than we’re used to, all while maintaining a catchy-enough riff to keep us following along on their absurd path. It’s time to get our shoes back on for a hike, because the two have announced both a new single called “Seam Esteem” and a tour around the East Coast, Canada, and Midwest.

According to the press release, they wanted to raise their glass ceiling in 2014 by allowing more nom-de-guerre instruments and electronic controls to dictate their tempo, rhythm and mood. “Inspired by an article by Brad Troemel in The New Inquiry Magazine about ‘athletic aesthetics,’ they began posting a short track every Monday as an exercise in communicating more with their audience and involving them in the process. After posting these pieces, they chose a selection of them to rework and build into what they hope will feel like a state of completion,” of which “Seam Esteem” came out of.
