Brooklyn producer The KickDrums released his most recent project, Thinking Out Loud, in late 2013, but fortunately for our ears, he’s already returned with a handful of new renditions of tracks from that record. Entitled the Echoes EP, KickDrums’ collaboration with OG Mattress finds the pairing of musical minds remixing cuts from Thinking Out Loud via the addition of multiple rappers.

The project’s debut single, a remix of “Atonement” featuring LaShaun Ellis, premiered via HypeTrak today, and after some careful listening sessions, it’s safe to say the retooling definitely does its source material justice.
