Tom Hanks And Ron Howard Are Back, Taking On Dan Brown’s ‘Inferno’

You haven’t seen the last of Robert Langdon on the silver screen. It was announced today that Tom Hanks and Ron Howard will reprise their roles of star and director, in Inferno, the third installment of the Da Vinci Code series.

For those keeping track, Dan Brown’s 2013 novel Inferno is the fourth novel to detail the life of Dr. Robert Langdon, while the film adaptation will make up the tail end of a trilogy following the prequel film Angels and Demons (the first Robert Langdon novel) and skipping the third book, The Lost Symbol, entirely. There’s no word from the production team on why The Lost Symbol as skipped. David Koepp will pen the script, which will start filming in April 2015. The movie has a tentative release date of December 18, 2015.
