It’s official, Guardians of the Galaxy will be known as THE movie of the summer. If not for the hilarious one-liners, stellar soundtrack, and headline-worthy unofficial merchandise, then for its dominance as this quarter’s top film, with $274 thousand dollars made domestically since its August 1 release date. This weekend, the Marvel Studios film topped the charts with the $16.3 thousand dollar pull that it made.
As Above/So Below made its debut this weekend and made around $8.3 million dollars, putting the horror flick not too far behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and If I Stay, which made $11.75 million and $9.2 million, respectively. Pierce Brosnan’s The November Man also went into theaters this week, and made a meager $7.66 million dollars.
