‘Dracula Untold’ International Trailer: Luke Evans Makes Bats Form A Fist

I wish that headline was a joke.

A new international trailer for Dracula Untold found its way online earlier this afternoon. The 92-second clip is a largely new take on the film’s longer first trailer, but there are a few new moments thrown in for added flavor. As the headline above teased, there is even a moment when Evans – presumably as Dracula – commands his army of bats to form a giant human fist and literally crush the opposition. You remember that from history class, right? Check out the trailer below:

The official and incredibly short plot synopsis for Dracula Untold reads:

Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, Immortals) stars in Dracula Untold, the origin story of the man who became Dracula. Gary Shore directs and Michael De Luca produces the epic action-adventure that co-stars Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, and Diarmaid Murtagh.

Does anyone expect this to be good? In my mind it looks more like the kind of thing you watch just hoping it’s bad enough to be good. There is no way that final battle sequence makes for thrilling entertainment when someone is in command of million-strong army of bats.

Dracula Untold opens stateside October 17.
