Enter Shikari took a long winter break from touring this past year in order to bring to life their upcoming fourth record as a band. Some light has been shed today on the new record after vocalist Rou Reynolds, guitarist Liam “Rory” Clewlow and bassist Chris Batten sat down with Already Heard for an in-depth interview about the upcoming album.
According to the interview, the band are in the mixing process but still have to go into the mastering process and come up with a title and artwork for the upcoming record. Check out what Rou had to say below regarding the songwriting and sound of the album:
AH: What can fans expect in terms of sound and songwriting on the new album?
Rou: It’s just as diverse as ever really. We pushed ourselves again. There’s a lot of concentration on texture. We’re massive fans of melody and rhythm but this time we’ve really concentrated on texture this time. There’s a lot of orchestral instrumentation as well which is really fun to record and write for. It’s got some of our heavier stuff and some of the most delicate stuff we’ve ever done, so it’s a nice mix.
The band also said they are shooting for an early 2015 release, specifically January. With playing the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK not too long ago, it seems the band is surely getting their gears ready for 2015 and to once again seek world dominance. Stay tuned to UTG as more updates will arise.
