Run The Jewels‘ sophomore release, RTJ2, has easily been one of my most highly anticipated albums of the year since its announcement. At this point, it’s my most anticipated for the remainder of the year, especially after hearing “Blockbuster Night Part 1” and seeing them earlier this summer at Outside Lands in San Francisco.
Today, the dynamic duo of Killer Mike and El-P have revealed several more details regarding the album, including it’s awesome Halloween-ish cover art (a continuation of their gun/fist logo and art from their debut) and the album’s tracklist, with impressive guests including Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, BOOTS, Akinyele Back and Foxygen offshoot, Diane Coffee. The album is set for release on October 28 via Mass Appeal Records. They’re also slated to release an RTJ2 remix album via Fool’s Gold sometime in 2015!
To coincide with the album drop, Run The Jewels have also announced an extensive tour of North America and Australia which begins on October 15 in Texas, takes a break in December, then resumes Down Under where it concludes in Auckland, NZ on January 10, 2015. Rat King, Despot and Joey Bada$$ will provide support on select dates.
