Into It. Over It. Releases Animated Music Video For “The Shaking Of Leaves”

Into It. Over It. (Evan Weiss) has been classified as a pioneer for the “emo revival” that’s been developing over the past couple years (even though it never left). But when it comes to a personal matter, all classifications should be put to the side when a musician wants to write about it.

This brings us to the IIOI’s latest music video for “The Shaking Of Leaves,” which appears on the band’s latest album, Intersections, which came out last year on Triple Crown Records. The video, which premiered on NPR today, portrays an animated scenario about a dog with an abusive owner.

Weiss had this to say about the video:

“Over a year in the making, John Komar and I had been going back and forth perfecting this video for quite some time. The initial storyboard had gone through multiple changes and ideas until we landed on the final theme. The most difficult part was coming up with something for the bridge section of the song — conveying the lyrics (about a very serious and sensitive topic) while still giving the story an optimistic outcome. This song was written for my fallen friend Mitch Dubey. The video was designed and written with him in mind. I think he would have loved it.“

Check out the video below and be sure to catch Into It. Over It. opening for Mineral on their upcoming reunion tour.
