Love Bad Movies? Help The Internet Make ‘Samurai Cop 2’ A Reality

There are bad movies and then there are those films that are so godawful that they somehow become cult hits that outlast well made films in terms of popularity by a wide margin. The Room is a classic example, as well as Troll 2, but in my opinion neither of those creative endeavors can hold a candle to the ludicrous film known as Samurai Cop.

Created in 1991 and almost immediately forgotten by the vast majority of the general public, Samurai Cop is a horrendous film chock full of bad acting, crap dialogue, and over the top action sequences that could only be imagined by someone who was incredibly high for the majority of the 1980s. The film was a complete disaster upon release, but in the two decades since it has become a midnight movie favorite, playing to sold out audiences around the world. That success prompted Cineridge Entertainment to launch a Kickstarter in hopes of funding a sequel to the film, and with 10 days left the effort has raised nearly $39,000 of their $50,000 goal. The official synopsis for Samurai Cop 2 reads:

It’s 25 years later, and Detective Frank Washington is forced to team up with his long estranged partner Joe Marshall to solve a series of assassinations being committed by a secret group of female vigilante killers.

No footage has been shot for Samurai Cop 2, but thanks to YouTube we’re able to share the original film’s remastered trailer with you today. You can view the clip below:
