Puig Destroyer Stream Baseball-Themed “Batflip”

The baseball season is slowly coming to an end and teams are fighting to the “grind” to either be on top of their respective division or for the last wild card spot before the postseason begins. With this being said, Puig Destroyer are streaming another song today off their self-titled debut that is all about baseball.

The song is called “Batflip” and it is another short song that is filled with banging drums and tremolo/harmonic guitars with aggression like its preceding songs “Mike Trout” and “No One Cares About Your Fantasy Team.” The album will be released September 30 via No Sleep Records, which is the same day the baseball postseason begins. Pre-orders for the album can be purchased at this location.

Listen to the song premiere and read a lengthy interview with the band’s drummer Riley Breckinridge (Thrice) over at Noisey. Here’s what Breckinridge had to say about how the band has grown in the short amount of time it has been a project:

It seems like with Puig Destroyer, it’s kind of a joke but it’s also on a legit label with real songs. Has it been cool to see what started out as a silly idea become something people can listen to and enjoy?

Definitely. The first EP went from idea to execution in eight days. With the second EP, we took a little more time but wrote and created those songs with the same mentality: Don’t over think it, we’re writing dumb, fast metal songs. But because we decided we were going to do a full length and then we ended up hooking up with No Sleep we wanted to take a little more time [with Puig Destroyer] so the writing process was a little bit more drawn out for this album and there was a little more back and forth with files. The full-length is way more diverse than the first two EPs, which are five or six one-minute-long songs.
