We know that no movie – especially no horror movie – is safe from the remake bug. If we didn’t know that, we certainly learned it with the Audition news. It’s no surprise, then, to hear that a remake of Kim Jee-Woon’s 2010 revenge thriller I Saw The Devil has been commissioned.
There’s good news, though. It looks like this remake will be tackled by writer-director team Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard, who are close to sealing the deal
The two are among the hotter names in indie horror. Besides contributing to both V/H/S films, they gave us a fun and clever throwback with You’re Next, and they are currently receiving excellent reviews for their most recent film, The Guest.
Now the two will up the ante, attempting to execute the most difficult horror trick: the worthwhile remake. Hopefully this will be more Let Me In than Oldboy.
