Boyz II Men Return With “Losing Sleep,” Announce New Album Slated For Fall Release

Draw the curtains, pop a bottle of bubbly, and put the kids to bed early, because Boyz II Men will be returning this fall with a new album, Collide. The R&B trio’s first offering since 2011’s anniversary record, Twenty, baritone Nathan Morris describes the outfit’s latest as a “collection of songs from all over the place—all different type of genres and different types of style.”

“I think fans are going to be blown away by that, because the history of what they know is that Boyz II Men sings ballads and love songs. There’s not a whole lot of that on this album,” Morris told Billboard earlier this week. “Unfortunately, people don’t listen to ballads anymore. We listen to them, because we grew up on them and we love them, but radio doesn’t play them. We’re in a very fast society where nobody wants to take time to slow down, so the music has to reflect that.”

In light of said announcement, the three-piece has teamed up with Billboard to bring us the album’s lead single, “Losing Sleep.” A sultry ditty in the same vein as the group’s earlier outings, give it a listen after the jump.

Since 2013, Boyz II Men have split their time between a hearty tour schedule and a residency at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. This year, the band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of II, their 1994 magnum opus that gave us the classics “I’ll Make Love to You” and “On Bended Knee.”
