Cat Stevens Announces First US Tour Since 1976

Today is a very, very special day. We have some great content on the way, but this story alone should fill you with excitement. It’s rare that a living icon long gone from the touring world decides to return to the international stage, and to be honest this particular artist is one I never thought people living today would have the chance to see.

Cat Stevens has announced plans for his first tour in more than twenty years. The singer – also known as Yusuf Islam – announced yesterday that he will travel to Europe and North America in November and December. The US shows, which begin in Boston, will be Stevens’ first stateside performances since 1976.

“I’ve been a bit slow in coming around to the United States, but there were so many people asking me to do that, that I just felt an obligation,” Stevens said in a telephone interview with The Guardian from Dubai, where he lives for much of the time.

Stevens will release a new blues album, Tell Em I’m Gone, on October 27. You can view his upcoming tour dates below:
