Fireworks Frontman Reveals Solo Project, Tea & Water

Dave Mackinder, lead singer of Michigan pop-punk outfit Fireworks has just released information on the solo project he’s been working on, called Tea & Water, and it’s pretty different.

Mackinder’s new digital EP is entitled Strangers Again and it contains three fresh tracks that all sound significantly less pop-punk and more indie/pop rock with a lot of electronic experimentation. Mackinder explains that he was able to take a more experimental route with T&W, resulting in the distinctiveness of the sound in comparison to Fireworks’ music. It’s available for digital purchase now via Bandcamp. Additionally, 100 hand-made digital download postcards are also available for purchase.

The EP was recorded with Citizen‘s Matt Kerekes and was written around the time Oh, Common Life was being written, according to Mackinder.

You can stream “Change Your Mind,” the first track off of this new EP over at AbsolutePunk.
