P!nk, Dallas Green Unveil Second Single Off Collaborative Album, ‘Rose Ave.’

Yesterday afternoon, Alecia Moore (P!nk) and Dallas Green (City and Colour) joined forces yet again to premiere a new single, “Break the Cycle,” through HuffPost Entertainment. It is the second glimpse we’ve received of the duo’s debut collaborative effort, Rose Ave., and can be streamed in full after the break.

Slightly more grandiose than the outfit’s initial outing, “You and Me,” “Break the Cycle” is a moving track that, like its predecessor, seems fated for repeat listens. Written for P!nk’s mother, listeners are immediately carried away on a breathtaking wave of strings, only to touch down gracefully amidst a flurry of cascading harmonies, poignant lyrics, and driving melodies.

“We were at the bar talking and I really wanted to write a song about my mom. It didn’t turn out to be quite the love song I thought it would be, but it’s very honest and came out to be so much more,” Moore told HuffPost Entertain.

“The words of the chorus is the loving, nurturing part,” Green added. “I did not expect this song to turn out the way it did and it’s so good.”

Now riding high off two phenomenal singles, Rose Ave. is quickly shaping up to be one of the must-hear records of the fall. If you agree, pick a pre-order here before it drops on October 14.
