The Who to Release 50th Anniversary Compilation; Includes New Song “Be Lucky”

Classic rock legends The Who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. From releasing rock opera records to playing massive live shows to trashing countless hotel rooms, the band have been through one hell of a ride during their tenure as a band.

To commemorate this feat, the band announced today that will be releasing a 50th anniversary compilation album that is aptly titled The Who Hits 50! The most exciting part about this release though is the inclusion of a new song named “Be Lucky,” their latest material to surface since 2006’s Endless Wire. Rolling Stone has stated that the song was recorded by surviving members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend with collaborations from drummer Zak Starkey, bassist Pino Palladino, and keyboardist Mick Talbot.

The record will be released on October 27, and also included in this package will be 41 of The Who’s greatest hits spanning their entire career. The band will also be going on a world tour in 2015 and the first trek of dates for the end of 2014 can be found here. Check out the tracklisting of the compilation below, after the jump.
