YG Kicks It Old School In “Do It To Ya” Music Video

“They say it never rains in Southern Kalifornia,” reads the opening slate of YG‘s new music video, “Do It To Ya,” but that’s hardly the most confusing thing about this music video. The video isn’t widescreen. That’s right, we are experiencing a return of dimensions that was only meant to portray music videos on vacuum tube TVs. YG is kicking it Tupac-style in his 4:3 ratio, and camera focus ain’t no thang.

The track reminisces that 90s Compton-esque sound, which isn’t surprising considering it samples Tha Dogg Pound’s (Daz Dillinger, Kurupt) 1995 Death Row track “Let’s Play House” (RIP, Nate Dogg). The hook features the singer TeeFLii, singing some explicitly sexual lyrics that seem much less filthy when sang in such a gentle and soulful manner.

Check out below the jump to see the video where YG and his crew have a pool party, spend time with some women and play some basketball. Don’t forget your Bompton hat. Also, you can check out some of his upcoming international tour dates. Keep it #400.
