Hear Two New Joey Bada$$ Singles “Get Paid” and “Christ Conscious”

Hip hop is getting some sharp songs today. Brooklyn MC Joey Bada$$ is on the brink of dropping his debut LP, B4.DA.$$, that’s already given us a peak of his upcoming official sound with “Big Dusty.” Now we’re getting a look farther into the record with outtake “Get Paid” and lead single “Christ Conscious.”

The raucous “Get Paid” sees Joey Bada$$ laying down the law and nailing his usual lines. The fact that this got cut from the record sets the bar pretty high for what will stay in the tracklist. Now that “Christ Conscious” is in our laps, it’s easy to see he was right. The lead single has him rapping threats over a minimal beat, giving off a pretty terrifying warning and vibe. He’s elevating his status to the rappers and nonbelievers. For anyone who doesn’t trust him, watch the song’s video after the jump. The MTV clip sees him literally becoming a God-like figure.
