The Affair couldn’t have done much better with regards to their opening credits. Regardless of the show’s quality, it can always boast that, somehow, they got Fiona Apple to agree to be the one who takes viewers into the first frames of every episode. That episode could be terrible, but you know what? At least we get to hear that nifty little Fiona track. The whole clip is below, where you can experience the whole 1:20 of Fiona soundtracking turning pages, rolling waves, and a butt.
Per Pitchfork, The Affair “explores the emotional and psychological effects of an extramarital affair, and will be told separately from the male and female perspectives.” If this all intrigues you, the show premieres on Showtime October 12 at 10 PM. It stars Dominic West (The Wire) and Ruth Wilson (Luther, Saving Mr. Banks).
