Canadian hip-hop-infused jazz trio Badbadnotgood released their third LP, III, earlier this year, and now they’re back with a new single titled “Velvet.” Last we heard from them, they were playing alongside Ghostface Killah and Danny Brown on “Six Degrees,” but this sees a quieter side of the group.

If your day is off to a rough start, relax. “Velvet” sees the three sprucing things up with delicate piano solos and steady jazz drumming that’s quick to mellow you out. There’s a little saxophone partway through that gets rowdy, but other than that it’s a smooth trip for putting your feet up on a Wednesday morning. Give it a listen below:
