Stream Meatbodies’ Debut Album

Over the last few years, Chad Ubovich played as a member of Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin’s respective backing bands. Now, he’s finally getting the center spotlight. Ubovich is teaming up with Cory Hanson of Wand and Erik Jimenez of Together Pangea as Meatbodies, a new punk rock act that touches on psych and garage rock in all the right places. It drops October 14 via In The Red, but for now the album is streaming in full over at NPR.

Meatbodies is exactly what we’ve come to expect after hearing singles “Disorder” and “Tremmors.” There’s twisted ’60s turns, frenetic fuzz, and wildly adventurous lyrics, and never once does Ubovich’s role as a bassist let up — the rhythms hit hard on every song. It’ll have you looking for the album pre-order before you’re even halfway through.

Give the album a listen over at NPR here.
