Caribou Tell A Story About Age With “Our Love” Video

This week Caribou just released their new album, Our Love, which was the follow-up to the hugely successful 2010 effort, Swim. To accompany the album, Dan Snaith has shared the video for the title track.

The video shows a commentary on aging, as it follows an elderly lady through the journey of her day, as she wakes up and retraces her steps to other spots and events in life. She also periodically will appear in younger or older form. It’s very well done and is an interesting take on the idea of time and aging. Ryan Staake, who produced the video, spoke about the video in the press release saying, “In ‘Our Love,’ I wanted to create a slow, brooding film that contrasted the seeming limitless of youth with the reality of death in later years. The film (which was photographed by Luca Ciuti) was shot on location in Ireland, at the beautiful Lough Ine House, about an hour and a half outside of Cork.”

Check the video out below and let us know what you think. Our Love is out now via Merge.
