‘Freaks and Geeks’ Will Reunite in ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ Reboot

Freaks and Geeks lovers, rejoice. The cult TV show will see a mini reunion between Sam, Neal, and Bill in the near future when National Lampoon’s Vacation gets a reboot. No, it’s not the whole cast, but something’s better than nothing 14 years after the show went off air.

John Francis Daley, aka Samm Weir, has been busy working as a writer, director, and actor since the show ended, but recently has decided to write an update on Vacation. When talking to Vulture about his time on Bones, he discussed the reboot, writing alongside his partner Jonathan Goldstein, and a Freaks and Geeks cameo. According to the interview, the three geeks will, indeed, reunite on camera:

“I don’t think I can even give away what my role is. I don’t know if anyone even knows this yet, but Samm Levine, and it’s looking like Martin Starr, will also be in the film.

I don’t know if they’ve been confirmed yet in the cast, but it’s looking really good. I just wanted a chance to get the three geeks [from Freaks and Geeks] back together, in the same project.”

It may be a nudge, but it’s strong enough to get us questioning that $12 movie ticket in the future.
