Harry Potter fans rejoice! It’s official. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is going to be a trilogy, and the first film will hit theaters in 2016.
The movies will follow the life of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them‘s author, Newt Scamander, as well as some other characters inspired by the franchise. All of this will take place in the 1920s, which is about 70 years from when Harry’s story begins.
The trilogy is slated to be released over the next six years – 2016, 2018 and 2020. David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter movies, will be returning to direct these three.
