Circa Survive Release Video For New Single, Launch Pre-orders For ‘Descensus’

It’s been less than two weeks since Circa Survive officially announced their fifth LP, Descensus, which is due out on November 24 through their new label, Sumerian Records.

Following the brief teaser found with the announcement, the band has released a visually stunning and disturbingly surreal new video for the album’s lead single, entitled “Schema,” which we heard a brief snippet of in the album’s initial trailer. Clocking in at nearly five minutes in length, our first taste of Descensus wastes no time introducing us to the aggressive nature in which the album opens, musically reminiscent of labelmates The Dillinger Escape Plan or maybe the underrated Exotic Animal Petting Zoo. But only ten seconds pass before Anthony Green rips into the track with a commanding presence as Green is wont to do. There’s an evident evolution present, something shown on each of Circa Survive’s records in succession, but this is classic Circa to the core. Fans both die-hard and new should feel right at home.

The band has also put up pre-orders for Descensus which we expect to be wiped out in record time. You can check out the bundle options here and stream the video for “Schema” below, where you’ll also find the album’s cover art and track list. Be on the lookout here at UTG for all things Circa Survive and Descensus in the next month leading up to its release.
