Portland’s iconic indie-folk rockers, The Decemberists, have returned with news of their next release. It’s been a few years since the band’s last official studio album, 2011’s The King Is Dead, and fans have been patiently waiting for a followup to the country/bluegrass-inspired album.
At long last, The Decemberists have announced the upcoming What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, which is set for release on January 20. Early promotion for the album was provided by vocalist Colin Meloy, who was seen busking on street corners recently. Pre-orders, tracklist and tour info are all available on the band’s website.
In celebration of the upcoming What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, The Decemberists are currently streaming the first taste of their record, a song called “Make You Better.” Check below the jump to stream the excellent new track.
