Die Antwoord Look Badass In First ‘Chappie’ Movie Trailer

Die Antwoord are about to become movie stars, and it’s all due to the creative mind of District 9 filmmaker Neil Blomkamp.

The first trailer for Chappie debuted online today, and as suspected it finds Blomkamp offering movie fans another eye-popping science fiction spectacle chock full of human emotion. The film follows a robot, Chappie, who finds himself in the care of owners that can best be described as thugs. They raise Chappie like a child, and over time they form a bond that looks unlike anything we’ve seen on the screen before. There’s also a lot of gunplay, of course, and beautiful CGI throughout. You can view the trailer below:

The official synopsis reads:

Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.

Chappie arrives in theaters March 6, 2015.
