Kendrick Lamar Releases “I” Music Video

The return of King Kendrick is in full swing, and earlier today the Compton native shared the long-awaited video for his latest single.

Opening in a dimly lit nightclub filled with sex, drugs, and violence, the first few moments of the video for “I” seems to take viewers to the world that inspired good kid, mAAd city. Just as things begin to feel a bit too familiar however, the vibe of the video switches into something a bit more akin to a house party, with stylish dancing, flash mob street dancing, bicycles, and just enough performance footage to remind us who is responsible for creating such an exciting good time. You can view the clip below:

I was not the biggest fan of “I” when it dropped, but over the last month I’ve fallen in love with its twist on Kendrick’s sound at least half a dozen times. I’m a full blown fanatic at this point, and with enough repeat plays you will be as well. Consider this an invitation or a warning – your choice.
