DRAMA DOWN UNDER: AC/DC Members Release Statement Regarding Drummer’s Arrest

According to reports from NME, the members of AC/DC have released a statement regarding last night’s arrest of drummer Phil Rudd, who is being charged on one count of of ‘attempting to procure a murder’ of two men. The drummer is also being charged with threatening to kill, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cannabis. According to CNN, Rudd attempted no plea on the charges and is free on bail until Nov. 27.

The band’s statement said:

“We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year”

The album to which the band is referring, Rock or Bust, is AC/DC’s first studio effort in six years and is due out next month. One could say Rudd is paying the price for dirty deeds done dirt cheap.
