Foo Fighters Announce 20th Anniversary Bash On Fourth of July

There are few things more American than Foo Fighters — so why not celebrate the band’s 20th “birthday” by throwing a star-studded bash in Washington D.C. on July 4, 2015? Independence Day 2015 marks, to the day, 20 years since Dave Grohl released a record under that goofy moniker, Foo Fighters, which soon became a household name.

Slated to support Foo Fighters on the birthday bash includes Joan Jett and the Heartbreakers, LL Cool J, Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Heart, and more. There might not be a more American way to spend your Fourth of July.

Foo Fighters are set to release their eight studio record, Sonic Highways, on Nov. 11. The record has an accompanying eight-part documentary, which runs on HBO. The documentary and record are an insight into Foo Fighters’ vision of American music history. The band travels from city to city to discover the musical roots hidden under this country’s skyscrapers.

Follow the jump to see the truly American show flyer for the birthday bash.
