Lorde has released the official video for the first of her three contributions to the upcoming film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

“Yellow Flicker Beat” was written by Lorde with the character Katniss Everdeen in mind, but it doesn’t feel all that different from the material that made up the New Zealand native’s 2013 debut. The video captures the haunting and often lonely sounding tones of the song by showcasing the teen vocalist in a number of secluded/seedy locations. When not performing, Lorde is doing a bit of dancing, but don’t expect a “Shake It Off” like twist. You can view the video below:

The Mockingjay soundtrack sees release on November 17 via Republic Records, while the film itself will open in theaters on November 21.

Also, happy birthday to Lorde as she turned 18 today.
