In anticipation of their new record Classics, She & Him have released a cover of Gerry Goffin and Carole King’s “Oh No, Not My Baby.”
The new record, which consists of covers of old standards performed live with an orchestra, releases next month on December 2. Zooey Deschanel was born to sing this kind of music. Her voice is silky over the organic orchestra, and it just works perfectly. I’m highly anticipating this record, but I’m slightly worried that the band will be competing with themselves during December – I’ll be dusting off A Very She & Him Christmas for rotation around the same time.
If you’re interested in the new album, or you just miss hearing Zooey’s voice after New Girl changed up its opening theme this week, you can listen to “Oh No, Not My Baby” below.
