‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Given Official Title

Star Wars

Through many internet rumors and speculation, the next installment in the monumental Star Wars film series has finally been given an official name. The next Star Wars film will be titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

An awakening indeed, as it has been nine years since the mixed enjoyment of the prequel films. Seemingly fitting as a title, it seems that the force will be awoken as the film’s possible plot follows the hunt for missing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

Along with the official title, Disney unveiled that principle photography on the film has been completed, highlighting just how close we are to JJ Abrams’ take on the George Lucas universe.

The film is currently slated for a December 18, 2015 release date.
