Ryan Adams Plays New Song Live, Set To Score Upcoming Al Pacino Film

What a year for Ryan Adams, right? Rock-n-roll’s most humble saving grace has been doing great things in 2014, and has delivered some excellent new music while he’s at it. The latest in his recent run of Pax-Am singles is almost here, and judging by a recent performance, it’s a good one. The new song is the title track from his upcoming entry in his Pax-Am single series, Do You Laugh When You Lie?, and you can check out its live debut below. The song, along with two B-sides, will be available as a 7″ record on December 9.

Adams will also be writing the score for the upcoming Al Pacino film, Danny Collins. Pacino plays the titular character, a middle-aged rock star who decides to make changes in his life after finding a letter written by John Lennon. The film also features Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner, Josh Peck, Christopher Plummer, and Bobby Cannavale, and will likely be out next year.

We’ll keep you posted on news about Adams’ contributions to Danny Collins as it comes, and you can check out a live rendition of “Do You Laugh When You Lie?” below.
