Under The Gun sent photographer, Derek Scancarelli, to Irving Plaza in New York City to photograph Anberlin’s Final Tour on November 16, 2014.
Over a decade ago, Anberlin released their first full-length album, Blueprints for the Black Market. In 2014, the band released a studio album entitled Lowborn before they embarked on their final tour ever. On November 26, the band will play their last show with ’68 at the House of Blues in Orlando, FL.
Anberlin took over New York City last weekend, playing two sold-out shows to Irving Plaza. Almost immediately, vocalist Stephen Christian made his way into the crowd to ensure the performance was as intimate as possible. Mike Herrera of MxPx served as a tasteful and subtle opener to a show that was really driven by die-hard lovers of music, not just some over-saturated tour package. Following the two performances, the band took to the Gramercy Theatre to perform their 2007 release, Cities, in its entirety.
