Remember that adorable girl from Little Miss Sunshine? She’s matured into a young woman and recently had her heart broken by some guy in a band (rumored to be Michael Clifford from 5 Seconds Of Summer). Her response? Write a song, of course.
Abigail Breslin partnered with the fine folks at Teen Vogue recently to share the music video for the actresses’ latest single, “You Suck.” The track is a midtempo anthem for every girl who has ever fallen in love with someone in a band and lived to regret it. The video is basically Breslin performing in and around an inner-city apartment, with several appearances from people we can only assume are her close friends. You can view the visuals below:
“I said you sound like All Time Low, you really don’t, even though you try hard,” Abigail sings on one verse, followed by: “I hate the scar above your eye, it looks like you’re on drugs / And you really need to learn to wash your hair / Overall, you’re not a catch, you’re just a dumbass / Bleaching your hair, I hope it all falls out.”
Between the name-dropping of All Time Low, the band’s song “Try Hard”, and the line about the “scar above your eye,” it’s not hard to understand how/why fans would assume the track is about 5SOS member Michael. Based on Twitter, it seems he gets that the track is about him as well:
For a first single, “You Suck” is crazy catchy. I’m not sure if Breslin has a long career in music ahead of her, but it’s not hard to imagine this song receiving a lot of love when it finally makes its way to radio. Comment below and let us know how you feel about Abigail Breslin’s music debut.
