Warner Bros. Reveals Insane Cast For ‘Suicide Squad’ Film

Hold on to your butts, DC Comics fans. Warner Bros. have revealed the lineup for the upcoming Suicide Squad film and it’s going to blow your superhero-loving minds.

Following what many believed to be an early leak of cool information, Warner Bros. confirmed this evening that they’ve recruited some of the biggest names in Hollywood for the 2016 Suicide Squad film. We told you before that Wolf Of Wall Street star Margot Robbie would be playing Harley Quinn, but she might as well be a C-lister compared to who was chosen for the roles of Deadshot and The Joker. Here’s the full roster:

  • Jared Leto as The Joker
  • Will Smith as Deadshot
  • Tom Hardy as Rick Flag
  • Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
  • Jai Courtney as Boomerang
  • Cara Delevingne as Enchantress

A few of these names have been floating around the rumor mill for a minute or two, but I don’t believe anyone could have foreseen Will Smith stepping in as Deadshot. The decision to cast Jai Courtney is also a surprise, but mostly because it’s hard to believe people are still giving him roles.

Suicide Squad will hit theaters in August 2016, which is just a few short months after the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Neither DC nor Warner Bros. have commented on the possibility of the films being connected, but given the well-known plan to build a universe of comic book films I think it’s safe to say some type of crossover will take place. I mean, do you really think they’re going to keep Jared Leto’s Joker under wraps until he’s a bit character in Suicide Squad? Don’t make me laugh.

You can view a collage of the new Suicide Squad cast members below. Comment and let us know your thoughts on this latest round of news.

  1. One of those guys says:

Why would the author assume that Leto is only going to be a “bit character” in the Suicide squad film? Unless he has some inside information, that sounds like mere spectulation to me.
