Sleater-Kinney Share A Fiery New Single For Us To Fawn Over

Even in the current era where a reunion is more inevitability than pipe dream, a select few illicit enough fervent joy as to capture the collective internet. The resurrection of Sleater-Kinney easily qualifies, with the trio’s importance, each member’s post-Sleater success, and the sense of it being height-of-their-powers demise being key factors.

So we all kind of lost our minds at the news of a new album (No Cities To Love) and tour in 2015. Furthermore, we’ve now been given two new, barnstorming, punk rock songs that wholly justify getting the band back together. The three kept sharp in their years of other pursuits, returning with singles that have a determined stomp and shout-along choruses that have the music press falling in love with the band yet again.

“It felt like we still had a story to tell. We felt compelled to explore how to tell that story.” – Sleater-Kinney on Reddit

Following “Bury Our Friends,” Sleater-Kinney debuted “Surface Envy” at the end of their Reddit Ask Us Anything. Topics addressed include the band’s album production, Janet’s jokes, and post-reunion tour non-plans. No Cities to Love comes out January 20 on Sub Pop; check out “Surface Envy” and the tour dates below.
