Modest Mouse Are Teasing New Music

Let’s be honest. You’re itching for a new Modest Mouse album. They haven’t released a full-length studio album since 2007’s We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank with the last piece of music being released in 2009’s No One’s First and You’re Next EP. But, your answers and prayers may be answered come next year.

Today, the folk alternative group created a new Instagram account where they posted a picture of a 7-inch vinyl record with the words “Side A” and “Lampshades On Fire” written on one side of it. No recent announcements have been made regarding a new studio album in the works, which dates back to 2013 when the group canceled a European tour to work on the album. Rumors in the past of who would be featured on the album included collaborations with Big Boi of Outkast and former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. The band has played unreleased songs throughout the years at various shows including a song titled “Be Brave” at Coachella in 2013.

Check out the post below from the band’s Instagram page as well as a recording of “Lampshades On Fire” from Sasquatch in 2011. Stay close with UTG for further updates.
