With Christmas (and the swarm of major releases that come with it) looming in the immediate future, cineplexes across the country are collectively experiencing something of a calm before the storm.
Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings overcame much more than a 28% rating to win over the weekend box office. After three solid weeks of domination, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 has officially lost the steam that powered its success, which financially translates to a weekend pull of $13 million dollars. Top Five made its debut as well, placing right above Big Hero 6 and earning roughly $7 million.
