With the recent stirrings of a new Modest Mouse single, “Lampshades On Fire,” the lingering hopes and buzz of a new Modest Mouse album in 2015 began to rise yet again. With long-awaited days, weeks, months, and years from Modest Mouse fans, the band has finally announced their newest album, Strangers To Ourselves, and it will release March 3, 2015. It has been eight years (yes, eight), since Modest Mouse’s latest album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.

The first single from Strangers To Ourselves will be the aforementioned “Lampshades On Fire,” and it is set to hit radio airwaves tomorrow, Dec. 15, and will be available for purchase Dec, 16. This information comes from an early test press of the single sent out to fans of the band, with a typed letter mentioning the new single, album, and release date.
