Watch Nicki Minaj’s Short Film ‘The Pinkprint Movie’

Rap got a handful when Nicki Minaj entered the scene, and she hasn’t slowed down in the slightest since first making a roar. After dropping her newest LP, The Pinkprintthis week (that’s well worth giving a full listen through), Minaj is back with a brand new short film to accompany many of the album’s sodden numbers. The film, The Pinkprint Movie, is currently streaming on YouTube in its entirety.

The visual companion piece to her album clocks in at 16 minutes. Directed by Taylor Cohen and Francesco Carrozzini, it follows Minaj through a series of heartbreaks and relationships over the course of three parts, aka tracks: “The Crying Game,” “Grand Piano,” and “I Lied.” Minaj is joined by Willy Monfret and Boris Kodjoe on the screen. It’s beautifully shot and gets pretty emotionally jarring, so watch it with an open mind (or a box of tissues). But if you need some convincing, consider the fact that it already has over five million views on YouTube.
