Front Porch Step Removed From Pure Noise Records Roster, Socials

Capping off a week filled with rumors and allegations of sexual harassment, Front Porch Step is apparently no longer a part of the Pure Noise Records family.

Early this morning, a diligent UTG reader brought to our attention the fact Front Porch Step, otherwise known as Jake McElfresh, has been removed from the roster page of Pure Noise Records’ official site. The two recordings the label released over the last year are still listed on the releases, but all other mentions seem to have been removed at some point in recent days.

A quick look at the label’s Facebook reveals a newly added banner promoting new albums that offers no mention of Front Porch Step’s recently released Whole Again EP. Again, all additional mentions of Front Porch Step appear to have been removed as well.

As far as updates regarding the actual allegations, we have no new information to offer. McElfresh has been accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with minors through text conversations. McElfresh has remained largely silent since news of a petition to have him removed from Warped Tour went public, but he did release a single statement just before the new year.

Last night, musician Allison Weiss dropped off a late January UK tour with Front Porch Step based on news of the allegations. Writing to fans, Weiss explained “Due to the recent allegations made against Jake McElfresh of Front Porch Step, I have decided I will not be touring with him this month in the UK. Whether the shows will happen without him or not is yet to be determined. I promise to post any updates here on Facebook as more information becomes available.”
