Front Porch Step Issues New Statement, Cancels All Tour Plans

The controversy surrounding Front Porch Step, otherwise known as singer-songwriter Jake McElfresh, has taken another turn. Just three days after breaking his silence to fans and press, McElfresh has issued a second statement informing fans that he has decided to suspend all current tour plans.

Writing to fans through Facebook, which has become the source of all Front Porch Step communication in recent days, McElfresh explained that he is still very much processing everything that has transpired in recent days. He wrote:

As I posted 3 days ago, I am taking the appropriate time to assess these very serious allegations against me and I am not taking them lightly. Until I can do that in a complete manner with all the information I have at my disposal, I will not be continuing with any current touring activities for the time being.

For those unfamiliar with the situation being discussed, McElfresh has been accused of sexually harassing underage female fans through social networks and text conversations. News of the accusations began to spread Tuesday morning after one former fan started a petition to have Front Porch Step removed from the lineup for the Vans Warped Tour. That petition, which is still active today, has since received more than 10,000 signatures.

UTG is continuing to follow this story and will no doubt have additional information to share in the days ahead. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
